Fees + Medicare
What do the fees cover?
Our fees are as such so that we can deliver the highest quality, personalised health care and are in line with the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommended schedule of fees.
Please note that payment is required on the day of consultation. Please familiarise yourself with our cancellation policy.

Please contact reception for a detailed quote of fees pertaining to obstetric care with Embrace Women’s Health.

Surgical Procedures
Surgery costs vary depending on the procedure type and your fund’s rebate schedule. We will provide an estimate and Informed Financial Consent prior to all elective procedures, that details any “gap” payable. You should also factor in the cost of your hospital excess (the price depends on your individual policy) and occasionally small out of pocket charges for surgical assistants, pathology or diagnostic imaging.
There are no additional charges for normal aftercare from a procedure.
Anaesthetic fees are separate and we will arrange a quote on your behalf.
Medicare Claiming
Medicare rebates apply for outpatient services and both Medicare and private health fund rebates apply to inpatient (hospital admitted) episodes.
In order to receive benefits from Medicare, make sure you have a valid GP referral and that you have linked your bank account details to your Medicare online account. Medicare stopped issuing benefit cheques on 1st of July 2016 so if you haven’t linked your bank account, you won’t get your refund!
Note: Medicare will only reimburse 85% of the MBS (Medicare Benefit Schedule) fee for a specialist consultation and 75% of in-hospital care. Sadly, the rebates (and schedule fees) lag well behind the cost of providing quality healthcare.
Medicare Safety Net
Once you have reached a threshold amounts in gap payments (gap between Medicare benefit and schedule fee) for a given calendar year, your rebates will automatically increase to a higher level. The Extended Medicare Safety Net covers outpatient visits, blood tests, ultrasound scans and other services. For more information, refer to: https://www.servicesaustralia.gov.au/medicare-safety-nets
* Quoted MBS rebates as per 1 March 2024 schedule – page last reviewed or updated 29/05/2024
Cancellation policy
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please let us know with as much notice as possible. Cancellations without adequate notice will incur a fee, as will non-attendances. The period of notice, and charge differs according to which practitioner you were booked to see.
We can convert most appointment types to Telehealth if you are unable to attend in person due to reasons such as illness or lack of childcare.
If your visit is for pregnancy care and you have been admitted to hospital or are in labour, no fee will be charged for a missed appointment.
Appointments
Jaclyn and Danielle consult from our main room and additional locations. Our main rooms are located at 84 Wattletree Road, Armadale, Jaclyn also offers appointments at the Cabrini Mother and Baby Centre, also in Malvern, and Wellness on Wellington in Rowville. Danielle also offers appointments at the Cabrini Mother and Baby Centre. Laura consults from Armadale only. These locations have different facilities so depending on the nature of your visit, it may be recommended that your appointment be at one of these locations, rather than the other.
If your problem is of an urgent nature, please let our reception staff know and we will endeavour to accommodate you. If your problem involves bleeding in pregnancy, severe pain or bleeding after menopause please let our staff know so that we can prioritise you. We are unable to provide crisis mental health services.
For your first appointment with Dr Jaclyn or Dr Danielle, please allow at least 30 minutes. Review appointments may take anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes, depending on the concern and how long since we last saw you. Please ensure you bring all recent scans and blood tests as well as a list of any medications you are currently taking. If you do not have copies, please let us know where and when you had these performed and our clerical staff will be only too happy to get hold of the results.
Please ensure that you have a valid referral (dated within the last 12 months) so that you can receive the Medicare rebate for your visit. It is illegal to ask a GP (or other practitioner) to backdate a referral.
It is important to us that each patient receives the time and attention that they need and although we do our best to keep to schedule, there are occasions when your appointment is delayed.
If delays are significant we will try to update you – we know you are busy and have better things to do than sit around in a waiting room. Please do us the same courtesy by phoning if you are running late, giving plenty of notice if you need to reschedule an appointment and keep your contact details up to date with our reception staff. We appreciate your understanding that sometimes emergencies happen (at the most inconvenient times)!
